As an Enterprise Mobile Security provider, here at Wandera we take our customers’ security seriously.

Our solution handles over two billion data inputs daily to provide our administrators with the highest level visibility and control over their mobile fleets.
We understand how sensitive the data we handle is and we continue to ensure the highest level of protection is in place to protect our users.
That’s why on Friday we released optional two-factor authentication (2FA) for RADAR administrators.

What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication is a two step verification process that protects against hackers gaining unapproved access to a user’s account. On top of a simple username and password login, 2FA requires an additional code or token to be inputted that only the user has access to.
The token is usually generated in real time from another one of the user’s devices. For example, if the service is being signed into on a computer, users can use a free authenticator app on their mobile devices to generate the unique code.
2FA has grown in popularity, especially among enterprises. As the cyber threat landscape continues to advance and attacks become more commonplace, a simple username and password combination quite simply isn’t enough for some organizations.

Wandera’s two-factor authentication

Wandera’s optional two-factor authentication for our online RADAR portal allows admins to add that extra layer of security to their login.
This feature can be configured with any TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) generator app.
A few popular ones include:

  • For iPhone: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, 1Password, Authy
  • For Android: Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Authy
  • For Windows 10 Mobile: Microsoft Authenticator, Duo Mobile

Once the service is configured, admins will be prompted to enter the generated code on their next login to the portal.
We give admins the added option of being remembered on a specified machine (we get they may not want to have to generate a code every time they login.)
If this option is selected, admins will only be required to enter the TOTP code if they change browsers or haven’t entered a code in some time.

Going forward

We look forward to continuing to provide the latest in secure technology advancements to our enterprise customers.
